Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord – Price, Release Date and Requirements

Mount and Blade II Bannerlord Price, Release Date and Requirements

The legendary medieval sandbox returns!

Grab your sword and mount your horse, whether you’re a glorious knight, a lowly peasant, a merchant or a bandit, it’s time to re-enter Calradia. In this article, you will find all the necessary information about the price, the time and what you need to get started on your new adventure.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord Release Date

Many fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of the next installment in this much-loved series and their dreams will become true later this month. The 31st of March of 2020 is the day Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord is set to release.

The seven years of wait will finally pay off as TaleWorlds Entertainment will once again put us in the boots of an ordinary Calradian man or woman, this time set 200 years before the Mount and Blade: Warband.

The game will allow players to experience the great Calradian Empire and its struggles while trying to make a name for themselves in a harsh and merciless world filled with bandits, cruel lords and many hardships for the regular Calradian person. However, veterans of the series will no doubt be familiar with this and will feel right at home.

Mount & Blade II Bannerlord Price and Release Information

Official information provided by the developers specifies that the price of  Mount & Blade II Bannerlord will be $49.99 / £39.99 / €49.99.

Note that this is not a full release just yet, however, do not worry. Although the game launches in Early Access, the developers are not looking to keep the game in development hell and wish to flesh out all the features as soon as possible.

They do not offer an exact deadline for the end of the Early Access phase, but they estimate it will take a year. Making a game that is balanced and fun for the player is their aim, and this process will take as long as it has to. This is a very healthy mindset in an environment where many games today get released half-baked and never see the light of a complete release.

The devs also assure us that core gameplay will be in good shape. Combat, party management, game map, factions and most of the game is working well. From their words, it is clear that all the game needs upon release are players to lead warbands in this old-but-new version of Calradia. Players will experience almost everything Calradia has to offer from the get-go and can expect a fairly polished experience.

Things that will be missing are ones such as weapon crafting, kingdom management, some quests and there might be some bugs that will be addressed by release. This is no reason to worry, however. The content in the Early Access “beta” will provide a wealth of adventures for anyone looking to have an extended stay in Calradia.

Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord Requirements

Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord Requirements

For those interested in the requirements of the game the developers have provided the following information on their Steam page:

Minimum Requirements

  • OS: Windows 7 (64-bit only)
  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i3-8100 / AMD Ryzen™ 3 1200
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Intel® UHD Graphics 630 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 2GB / AMD Radeon™ HD 7850 2GB
  • Storage: 60 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: Integrated GPUs require additional 2GB of system RAM

Recommended Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 (64-bit only)
  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-9600K / AMD Ryzen™ 5 3600X
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 3GB / AMD Radeon™ RX 580
  • Storage: 60 GB available space

While this is a big increase in requirements and recommended specifications compared to its predecessor (Mount and Blade: Warband), the game has vastly improved its graphics and everything related to combat feel. Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord takes the Mount and Blade experience to a whole new level of awesome.

For those who have been thinking of upgrading their gaming rig with some new hardware, this is the time to do so. A shiny new CPU or graphics card will ensure you have the time of your life in the huge sandbox the improved Calradia offers.

For those whose computers are up to the task and wonder about the general performance of the game, feedback from the multiplayer is varied. Many players report stable and high framerate, but there have been a few reports of crashes during sieges and certain gamers despite their powerful computers have had issues. The developers will most likely fix the majority of these reports during Early Access, but you should be able to buy, test and refund the game, at least on steam, should it have any issues on your setup.

All that being said, we hope you are as excited as we are for the release of Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord and that we will see you soon on the fields of Calradia!
